“Creating Positive Emotions in My Horse During a Session“

1. Exit “Control” to enter “Connection”
Most riders seek to control their horse's feet. Equideo, we choose to access his mental. Beyond robotization or resignation, let's cultivate presence: What if your horse became the initiator of the session? If he asked you questions instead of simply receiving your aids? Sarah Fricoteaux invites you to shift into a new dimension: that of...’Exchange, listening first, then appropriate responses.

2. The Innovative Concept: The Ethogram of the Happy Horse
Inspired by cutting-edge research and Sarah's expertise (particularly her work with Linda Parelli and her application of Linda Parelli's brand-new "Happy Horse" program), this workshop is based on a scientific and intuitive understanding of the horse. You will learn as much about yourself as you will about the horse. Read, feel, understand, and interact with greater meaning and subtlety.
We will be talking about:
-
-
Happiness hormones and assimilation processes via serotonin – Dopamine vs. Cortisol: How to transform conversation and physical effort into a source of internal gratification for the athlete.
-
The Motivated and Willing Mindset: Moving from “I must” to “I want” because your horse feels read, he feels understood and he knows that comfort will systematically come because you are taking care of it, even in the effort.
-
Bilateral Communication: Learn to listen to your horse's emotional responses and opinions to adjust your request in real time (the 3-second rule, immediate comfort, accuracy and silence of your aids).
3. The Pillars of the Stage
-
Decoding the Invisible: Identify the micro-signals of the ethogram of well-being (fear/pain/confusion/argumentation vs serenity/joy) to anticipate blockages before they occur.
-
Psychology in the service of horseback riding: Integrate the principles of the Happy Horse program and equine psychology to obtain a horse that is brilliantly powerful, but totally relaxed.
-
Re-establish Conversation: Ground and mounted techniques to make your horse truly "look" at you and share your goals, from leisure to competition.
4. Why choose Equideo?
Choosing an internship with Sarah Fricoteaux means joining a community that has “a head start”. You don't leave with a list of exercises, but with a new reading system. You learn to become the leader your horse needs: a guide capable of creating an environment of absolute emotional security, even in the most stressful situations (transport, outdoors, competitions).
5. For riders who aim for excellence, whatever your discipline.
This workshop is designed for those who refuse "mental prison" and seek a relationship that is both subtle and powerful.

IN PRACTICE
This course takes place over two days and is suitable for all levels in both technique and horsemanship. We begin with a theory session where I ask you about your current level, what challenges you are facing, and what your short-term goals are.
You will then learn to determine the root cause of the problems and to solve them through the use of the Happy Horse program, using the appropriate modules for each of you.
The first morning session takes place on the ground. You will need a rope halter, a 3.7m round lead rope, and a carrot stick with a cord. For the riding portion, please bring your usual riding equipment, the kind you are comfortable with. Helmets, chaps, or boots are required. No riding in sneakers.
The welcome takes place at the Grange du domaine at 8:30 am with hot drinks and pastries, and the Workshop starts at 9:00 am.
Opening hours: 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM and 1:45 PM – 5:00 PM
It is possible to arrive the day before and leave the day after the course at no extra charge. Camping on site in a van is also possible.
Your horse's boarding includes lake waterers, organic hay, and high-quality paddocks with shelters. The preparation paddocks, with wood shavings, are also equipped with automatic waterers and racks for your belongings (PLEASE NOTE: it is strictly forbidden to tie your horse to any fence or galvanized gate other than the tie rails provided for this purpose). The tie rails are located near the stabilized parking area and are easily accessible.
Plan your picnic
Snacks, fruit and hot drinks are available throughout the day.
It is entirely possible to do this internship with an Equideo schoolmaster horse.
