2-day, 2-night weekend at Lake Montbel
Event Location:
Lake Montbel, Camping le Fort de Montbel, Ariège
Event Description
Lake Montbel is a magnificent site with turquoise blue waters. Horseback riding around the lake, swimming, exploring the surrounding nature – that's the program!
Meet at Lac de Montbel, Le Fort de Montbel campsite, on Friday the 29th in the afternoon.
We set up the horses, paddocks, and campsite for the weekend. Please bring your own tent, air mattress, sleeping bag, etc. Just ask if you don't have any of these. We have everything you need in terms of tables, folding chairs, camping stove/coffee maker, etc.
We'll be having a potluck dinner where everyone brings something. We'll provide bread, coffee, and tea. Feel free to bring your own breakfast if you have your own preferences.
Hike around the lake and swimming on Saturday.
Return to camp on Saturday afternoon.
A shorter loop in the surrounding nature on Sunday, departing in the mid-afternoon.
Horseshoes on the front hooves are mandatory for barefoot horses.
Picnic lunch from the cast irons. Cast iron rental available as an option.
Renting one of our schoolmaster horses is possible as an option (Prerequisite: you have already had lessons/workshops with me, or are an Equideo member or an initiated Happy Horse/Parelli student).
Each day includes: the route, its verification and any possible plans B, an adequate parking area for vans, watering areas for horses, a secure picnic area with a provided tie line, care and safety equipment, supervision and teaching of the outdoors including learning knots, managing emotions, gaits, being comfortable in and out of the group, managing technical passages, reading one's own and other horses, checking and using equipment, etc.
Learn why our rides always take place with happy horses and riders!
Equidéo member option, advanced level, independent outdoor riding: We offer this option to our members who have achieved a certain level of independence and don't require extensive coaching during their day's ride. You have already completed courses or workshops at Equidéo, you know how to tie knots, understand trail riding safety rules, and can read horses and adapt your skills based on their behavior. This option is not available with a new horse or a young horse that you are bringing along for training assistance. Attention : You are responsible for this choice. It may happen that you need assistance for your safety, the safety of the group, and/or the safety of your horse. In this case, you will be asked to provide the full day's support.
Hikes are postponed ONLY in the event of an orange weather alert, thunderstorms, or heavy rain exceeding 85% two days prior. In this case, the hike is rescheduled for a later date. As all our hiking days are the same price, you can choose to register for this rescheduled date or for another date in the meantime.
